Today was Week 1, Day 2 of C25k. Ankle felt great, and the running was easy. I hardly broke a sweat. In terms of cardio, I could probably pick back up at about week 5 or 6, I think. But I want to ease my ankle back in to running, so I'm content with starting way back at the beginning and following C25k's easy ramp upward from the beginning. Funny how easy it seems now, compared to my recollection of how difficult it was the first time through.
Funny thing: the other day I had a new client, that had read my blog! I guess she googled my name after setting the appointment to meet with me. She congratulated me on my running and weight loss, and asked me how my ankle was doing. She looked at the family photos I have in my office and said "wow - you really HAVE lost some weight, haven't you?" It felt a little odd, since I use such a conversational tone in my blog and talk about spider-man, the muppets, etc. Very unlike my work persona. I don't think I've said anything in my blog to be embarrassed about, but maybe I should go back and read through the entries to be sure....

C25k: Week 1, Day 1 Revisted
I've been feeling good the last few days, so this morning I went out and started C25k over from the beginning. It felt great. Now it's about two hours later, and my ankle is still feeling fine. Yay! Also, when I got back I lifted weights.

Nope.
After much deliberation, I decided not to participate in the 5k this past weekend. I had been debating whether I would show up and walk it, or take a pass entirely. I opted for the latter, so that my first 5k experience is one where I run. Meanwhile, I'm still pining to get back to running. Every time I think "tomorrow I'll go running again," my ankle starts hurting by the time evening rolls around.

Here We Go Again
I've been feeling good these last few days, so I think I'll suit up and go running tomorrow morning to see how it feels. I'll take it easy, but I can't wait!
In other news, my first 5k is just three days away, now. I'm absolutely not going to run it. I am, however, considering walking it. Frankly, I'm ambivalent: I really wanted my first "5k" experience to be one where I run. Since there's another one in my area in May, I was thinking about just passing this one up. On the other hand, my mother will be in town this weekend, and I'd love to walk the 5k with her.

Balancing Act
I seem to be getting the hang of maintaining my goal weight. I've been weighing every other day - this morning, I weighed in at .1 pounds above my goal. On April 1st, I was .1 pounds below goal. Pretty remarkably consistent. Still no running for me, though.
Here's a graph of my weight change, beginning when I started C25k, four months and 30 pounds ago:

Grumble grumble
I was still feeling some pain in my left ankle on both Saturday and Sunday, so I opted not to do any running this weekend. We did take a walk to the park on Sunday, so the kids could play at the playground, but other than that I was decidedly sedentary. It is all quite frustrating to me - I want to be out there!
